Intro:

Welcome to the Peaky Blinders Prompt Fest Spring 2020! This fest is focused on any characters or pairings from the series Peaky Blinders.

This is not a gift exchange fest! Participants will submit prompts, but no one is obligated to fill them. For more information, please see the FAQ.

This fest runs from March 18th 2020 through May 31st 2020, but the end date might be moved depending on interest.

FAQ:

What is a prompt fest?
Unlike gift exchanges, participants in prompt fests do not create a fan work for anyone per se. Instead, think of these fanworks as gifts to the entire fandom. No one is guaranteed that any of their prompts will be filled. Participants who submit prompts are offering up ideas of things they would like to see. Maybe the prompt will inspire a fanwork, but maybe not.

Schedule
Please note that the following schedule is a suggestion only. While we will close the fest on May 31st, people can still feel free to create fanworks inspired by the prompts here.

March 18th, 2020: Prompts open
April 17th, 2020: If you're going to submit a prompt, try to have it submitted by this date
May 31st, 2020: Prompt fills close (*tentatively)

How can I participate in this fest?
The beauty of the prompt fest is that there are plenty of ways that people can participate! If you'd only like to submit prompts, great! If you'd prefer to just create fanworks, awesome! No one is obligated to both prompt and create, so do what speaks to you. And if you want to comment and cheer people on, that's an important role in a fest too.

What kind of fanworks can I submit? Are there any restrictions?
You're welcome to submit any kind of fanwork. We welcome fic, art, fan mixes, edits, metas, etc. There are no minimum or maximum requirements on any fanwork. You can create a 200 word drabble for a prompt or a 10,000 word fic, for instance.

How do I sign up?
To sign up, you'll select the prompt you want and "claim" it. The prompt will now be located on your AO3 account in the area reserved for challenge information (sign-ups, assignments, etc.). It will sit there until you're ready to fulfill the prompt, which you can then do by going to "fulfill" under the My Claims section of your account. From there, the fulfillment form will look nearly identical to the form you normally use to upload an fanwork. The prompt-fest specific information will already added to your prompt fill, so no need to worry about that.

What do I do if I can't fulfill a claim or need to drop out of the fest?
Should you need to drop out or cannot fulfill a prompt that you initially claimed, the only thing the mods ask you to do is go into your "Challenge Claims" on your AO3 account and "Drop Claim" on the prompts you can't fulfill. Feel free to remain signed up for the fest and contribute prompts, etc. By dropping the claim, you'll give someone else the opportunity to fulfill it.

There's a prompt that I like, but there's some part of it that doesn't appeal to me. Do I have to create a fanwork that meets all prompt expectations?
No, not at all! Because you're not creating for anyone, you can take these prompts as suggestions. They're meant to inspire, not to constrain.

I want to add a prompt, but I would prefer people don't know what I prompted. What do I do?
All "requests" (the function through which prompts are submitted) are set by default to anonymous. This means that prompters have to opt-in to have their name associated with a prompt.

The only exception to this is that your mod (boundinshallows) and the AO3 team can see who prompted what. Rest assured that your kinks are safe with me. No judgment here! As a seasoned veteran of some truly filthy kink memes in the past, I have read it all (and maybe written some too).

Do I have to write for a certain pairing?
Not at all! This is an anything goes fest. We welcome character-focused fanworks, gen fanworks, popular pairings, and rare pairings.

Rules:

1. Please use archive tags when posting your fanwork.
Because you're free to do whatever you like with the prompts, please use tags to let your readers/viewers know what they're getting into. If the prompt you're responding to involves fluff and your fill features a major character death, that's probably going to come as quite the shock.

2. Claim prompts wisely.
Though anyone can claim any prompt any number of times, please be realistic when you claim prompts. Sometimes people avoid claiming prompts that have already be claimed by someone else. If you have to drop out or no longer want to write for a particular prompt, please "drop claim" in your account.
