Mel told herself that the next time Becca slept over at the centre, she would talk to Frank about having sex. She would approach it tactfully, maturely, and articulately, and even if they didn’t do it that night, they could at least make some sort of plan.
“Do you want to have sex?” she blurted out instead.
Frank looked at her, surprised, and then squinted a little. “Is that a trick question?” he asked.
“Uh... no?” She reached for the remote to pause Hamilton, right in the middle of Say No to This. “I want to know. If you want to have sex.”
“Yeah,” he answered slowly. “I wanna have sex.”
“Okay.” She swallowed, rubbing her palms against the legs of her jeans. “Do you have, uh, a condom?”
