“I’ll admit, we weren’t expecting you,” Kolivan says. “Did we miss a transmission from Voltron?”
“No,” Lance says, “and I don’t want you to tell them I’m here, either,” he adds quickly.
Kolivan’s eyes narrow. “They don’t know you’re here,” he concludes.
“And I’d like to keep it that way. I want to join the Blade of Marmora.”
After months of feeling unappreciated and ignored, Lance decides he's sick of it. Not even Keith realizes the new Blade is Lance.

Keith stared into the neon purple concoction and wondered if it would be his death sentence.
“Shiro,” he said out of the corner of his mouth. “I can’t drink this.”
“Why?” Shiro asked through his smile.
Keith glanced over to where Lance was asking if any of the Xaligas had heard of bendy straws. The aliens, as per usual, were enchanted by him.
“Because,” Keith’s teeth were locked shut to keep from chattering. “It might cause an intergalactic incident.”
Shiro’s eyes widened ever so slightly. “That’s a good reason.”When the gang is served a truth serum by an untrusting group of aliens, Keith is forced to reveal a rather inconvenient secret. This is bothersome, considering half of the galaxy is in love with Lance.

"Coran thinks you'll bang at the Christmas party but I think that's giving you guys way too much credit," Pidge says thoughtfully. "Hunk is a romantic. He thinks Lance is gonna ask you out any day now. I think he's got a week or so before he owes me like a hundred bucks."
"Pidge, what the fuck?" Keith says, flustered. He nudges them again with his foot, this time slightly harder. They scowl at him, swatting him away. "Why would you bet on me and Lance?"

His name. Someone was saying his name again. He cracked his eyes open, looked up blearily at Lance, saw his mouth moving and finally put two and two together.
“Keith,” he was saying, “dios mío, I thought you were dead. I thought you were fucking dead. Are you okay? Please say something. Keith?”Or, Keith gets injured on a mission and Lance is understandably concerned.
