Alarm bells sound in Adrien's brain because, like the martyr he is when it comes to his lady, he's thrown himself into the path of an oncoming train, and all he can do is stare as it bears down on him where he's frozen in it's spotlight.
"A...a scarf...like… You said you knitted it yourself?" He chews at his lip to calm the twisting in his gut because this could literally change everything. And it could end in utter disappointment and disgust with the man who is more a taskmaster than a father, but it could also lead to everything he wants coming true. Nothing is ever easy. Nothing is ever perfect. But he'd trade the lie of his father's love for the genuine love of his lady any day. If it's true. The fact he hopes it's true speaks volumes. That alone is an uncomfortable truth he's going to have to stare down regardless of the source of his favorite birthday gift, now a knitted catalyst.

Marinette used to love winter, that was before she put on the earrings. As night falls, she's working harder than usual with her own ladybug instincts working against her. Wanting to just curl up under the covers and hibernate until the spring thaw.
Really, nobody should have been surprised when she walked into class singing traditional Christmas tunes, only rearranged to mock Shadow Moth. Really, nobody should have been.
