Summary
After stumbling upon a flyer for a shared apartment, a depressed Jonathan leaves home in the hopes of finding peace. When he discovers who the other tenant is, he considers leaving—but remaining changes things in his life.
As he studied Steve, he noticed something was different. Something about him had changed. Whether it was maturity, he couldn’t tell—but things weren’t as he remembered. For one, he looked worn out, like life had finally caught up to him. The confident sparkle in his eyes was no longer there—instead, it was replaced with something else. Something darker. Hurt. That alone was easy enough for Jonathan to identify.
Even though his instincts screamed at him to pull away—something else, something he couldn’t suppress—urged him to stay. Jonathan couldn’t decipher what it was. Desperation, empathy, or perhaps a sense of longing. Because when the two of them made eye contact, Jonathan found that outwardly, they were no different.

Summary
Steve Harrington has a mission: get Robin Buckley her happy ending with Nancy Wheeler. The problem? It's 1984, and being gay in Hawkins is a social death sentence... unless the most popular guy in school changes the rules.
Steve's plan: hang out with the town freak, Jonathan Byers, to "normalize" diversity.
The problem: Jonathan Byers would rather be eaten by another demogorgon than help Steve Harrington.
Steve will discover that Jonathan is much more complicated than he imagined. And Jonathan will discover that "King Steve" might not be the bad guy he thought he was... though that won't stop him from wanting to punch him in the face.

Summary
“If you could see one person one more time before the big bad Ruskies obliterate us,” Robin giggles, “who would it be?”
Steve has been feeling so wonderfully unabashedly honest for these last few minutes or months or however long they’ve been here, tied together in their Scoops uniforms and possibly dying from beating-induced brain hemorrhages or Russian poison that he says, without hesitating, “Jonathan Byers. And I’d give him a big ole kiss.”

Steve has a few secrets of his own.
Perhaps, Steve Harrington is a creep, too. -
