Hiccup grit his teeth, carefully placing the flask back on the table. He rubbed his eyes, looking over to the flaming inferno in the furnace. He watched as the metal turned red, then orange, glowing with heat. It reminded him of the fire reflecting off of a set of blue and brown eyes. Hiccup sighed, his grip lessening on the tongs in his grasp. He hoped with this, the burden on his mind would lessen. He doubted it would, but it was worth a try.
He, at the very least, could honor the creator’s sacrifice.
