“What are you doing here,” Illya grunts, without inflection. Not his finest opening.
“Waverly didn’t tell you?”
“No.”
Most likely because if he had, Illya would have refused to work this operation. Illya is not dumb enough to think their boss didn’t know about their… relationship. Such as it was. Nor does Illya believe Waverly wasn’t very aware of the aftermath of Napoleon’s abrupt departure.
(Or, Illya still doesn't know why Napoleon ran all those years ago, but he's about to find out.)
