Summary
He had only ever envisioned his death being swift and violent, and definitely first - there is no force on earth that would take Rufus’s life while he still lived and breathed, because protecting him was what he was employed to do and he does it damn well. This isn’t how it is meant to be, he thinks, watching the other man wither away. This isn’t how it is meant to be.
Tseng realises that they are not in fact invincible, and that nothing is as it should be. He does learn, however, exactly where he belongs.
