Sieun knows that his parents just want him to move past it, to get over it, even if they won’t say it out loud. But there’s no moving past it—not as long as Suho stays like this. There’s nothing to propel him forward, nothing to knock him out of this equilibrium.

“What?” Sieun turned to Suho in surprise.
“I don’t know why I asked.” Suho chewed his lip. “I just think it’s too cruel that we only find out when it doesn’t matter anymore. Like, what’s the point then?”
Staring into the concrete above, Sieun couldn’t help but agree. But maybe the universe was just cruel like that, dangling the possibility of true love before snatching it away in one irreversible swoop.
