After a few quiet moments, Shiro flops down into the bed, staring up through the glass. He sucks in a breath, as though he’s just realising exactly what he’s looking up at.
“Keith,” he calls, one hand reaching out for him but never taking his eyes from the late afternoon sky. Keith takes it, lets himself be pulled into the bed next to Shiro. He leans on one arm, fingers on the other slotting between Shiro’s, and Keith admires him.
“I thought,” Keith starts in a hushed voice. He hides a smile in his palm when Shiro tears his eyes away from the sky to look at him. “I thought, maybe we’ve seen the stars a lot, but we’ve never seen them like this.”
Keith takes Shiro away for a winter adventure holiday way up north, with the intention of making one of Shiro's dreams come true.
