Duncan looked around the room and grimaced at the bitter reality: every omega around him was either taken, married, or mated. All except him. And with Aerion constantly breathing down his neck, poking fun at his nonexistent love life, Duncan decided enough was enough. He was done waiting. He was going to put himself out there, start dating, and hopefully by years end, woo an alpha all the way to the altar.
An ambitious plan— now if only the alphas around him would stop mysteriously disappearing...
Or, alternatively, a cat and mouse game between an insane dragon who suffers from chronic down-badism and a clumsy oaf who doesn't even know he's playing.

“You're out of your fucking mind,” Duncan replied, a knot of fear tightening in his throat. He wrenched his arm back, but Daeron stepped into his space, pressing a warm hand against the hedge knight's jaw.
“You can feel it, can't you?” the drunken lord pleaded, his voice desperate as he searched Dunk's face. “Whatever force has joined us sees no difference between man and woman. Take the gold. Just a kiss. That's all I ask. I need to know.”
Soulmate AU: Dunk only wants to earn a few coins in a tourney. Instead, he kisses a strange prince, finds himself bound by fate, and ends up looking after three Targaryens: one drunk, one mad, and one carrying wisdom far beyond his years.

Ser Duncan the Tall finds out Prince Aerion is a secret omega during the Trial of Seven, causing the royal family to offer him a permanent place at Summerhall in exchange for his silence. When a scheming princess brews a love potion meant for her brother Egg, it is accidentally given to Dunk instead; the first person he locks eyes with is unfortunately Aerion Targaryen, sealing the spell. The hedge knight's intense need for the prince only makes the royal recognize needs of his own.

“Please, Aerion-” Dunk whispered weakly. “Do not torture me more than I already am.” he begged, causing Aerion to raise an eyebrow and smile at how much of a power trip he was receiving. “You should leave, you know you should” the hedge knight cautioned before taking a long pause. “But if you stay-” he added almost dreamily. “I am more than willing to be the alpha you need.”
“I need no fucking alpha!” Aerion shouted at him. “I have been told my whole life how I need to find an alpha to calm and claim me, I will have none of it” the Targaryen explained in a strong and defiant tone. The prince took another step closer to the knight, the tips of his shoes just barely touching the edge of the chalk line below them.

After the Ashford Tourney, Baelor returns critically wounded but alive, slipping into a coma. Valarr, betrothed to Aerion since childhood and set to marry him within the year, cannot help blaming Aerion for his father’s condition. Every time he watches his mother weep over Baelor’s unconscious body, the resentment deepens and festers. "It is decided," Mo'at walked up to Jake, her voice impatient and firm. Jake narrowed his eyes. Then he continued, "My daughter will teach you our customs. Learn well, and we will see if..."
The human interrupted her with a loud "wait," almost a shout. Mo'at stared at him, surprised. The avatar's stretched cheeks turned slightly red. He raised both hands in surrender.
"I'm sorry..." He cleared his throat. "I would like to ask someone else to teach me."
Neytiri tilted her head to one side. Tsu'Tey frowned. What was that idiot doing?
"Ah." Mo'at sighed. The tsahìk stared at the dreamwalker with interest. "Tell me, demon warrior: who do you want if not my daughter?"
Jake remained silent. His long tail whipped back and forth, and his eyes sneakily met Tsu'Tey's; Tsu'Tey gasped and dug his nails into the carved curves of the bow. Jake smirked and pointed at him.
"I want him.”
