“After years of traveling all over the world, seeing incredible things and meeting fascinating people, Colin Bridgerton took everyone by surprise when he said he was coming home and wanted to pursue teaching.
He reached out to Penelope first, asking for advice and a bit of help with the certification process. Penelope was glad to help him; her heart was warmed by Colin’s newfound passion for education, and slowly but surely, Colin was ready to apply for teaching positions. It wasn’t until he had secured a spot at Penelope’s school that she began to grow nervous.”
Childhood friends Colin and Penelope teach in classrooms across the hall from one another. Penelope, in her fourth year of teaching English, shows first-year-teacher Colin the ropes of their now shared profession. As they spend more time together throughout the term, the pair come to see one another in a new light, and the lines between friendship and something more begin to blur.

Penelope woke up in her bed feeling the biggest headache she had ever experienced in her life.
She could not understand why people liked alcohol so much, it tasted horrible, it made feel dizzy and vulnerable and the next day she felt she was going to die.
“PENELOPE FEATHERINGTON!!!” She heard her mother calling for her.
Portia Featherington enter her bedroom with her face red of anger.
She dropped a paper in Penelope’s lap.
“What is the meaning of this!?” Her mother
asked.Penelope looked at the paper confused, it was the newspaper of Lady Whistledown.
"I would like to end this edition with probably the most scandalous thing that happened in last night’s ball, Penelope Featherington had a change on her appearance, I would not blame you dear reader for not noticing it, this author often forgets her existence, however Colin Bridgerton apparently did notice it, the two of them were seen in a dark corner, outside Lady’s Danbury exchanging something more than their regards."

Summary
Shawn Spencer has been a psychic detective for almost twenty years now - most people either think he's pretending or they genuinely buy his act. The truth is a little somewhere in between. He can see ghosts, it's just... it turns out most people, even murder victims, don't bother to hang around after death, so it's not all that helpful for most cases.
It's helpful at other times, though, so when he and Gus get a chance to go to London (again) he finally decides to tell Gus the truth by way of introducing him to some ghosts who helped him on a case once. Edwin Payne would just like this very annoying man to leave his office, please.
