Squirrelflight, ultimately, chooses Ashfur. He's supportive and kind and as soon as she steps away from Brambleclaw, she begins to wonder how she stayed there so long.
Her problems aren't over, because Brambleclaw is still there, but at least he's not by her side.
alternatively, i rolled time back to 2005, stopped the ashfur villain arc from ever happening, and started telling squirrelflight's story.

this is SO interesting i'm sad i discovered it so late i wish i could've been there as it was coming out on tumblr, but either way i find the concept very cool and the story is intriguing
