Summary
For just over five full years, Akihiko has had Haruka and Hayato in his life. Having latched onto them like they were trauma-bonded puppies from nearly the very start, he doesn't think he'll ever stop wanting them at his sides, no matter what situations they end up in. Granted, the situations at hand tend to be less of the Potentially Physically Harmful variety, now that they're all twenty years old and two full years out of graduation from Furin, but they can be no less mentally harrowing. Especially given the various traumas all three of them have suffered over the years to both cause and solidify the previously mentioned pack bond.
He really hadn't thought that leaving Makochi for a single weekend to see family would be that bad. Haruka's about six months into transition and is happier than she's ever been. The three of them are nearly a full year into the lease on their second and much better shared apartment, and both he and Hayato have steady full time jobs, the few gaps filled by Haruka's varied work around town. Things are good. Stable.
So why does Akihiko have such an ominous pit in his stomach as his vacation comes to an end?

Summary
Haruka's life is not as complicated as it once was. Since the end of her career as the head of Bofurin, the most dramatic things to occur in her day to day life tend to be interpersonal, though there is the occasional bout of harassment when she steps too far outside the limits of Makochi. Usually, though, it has a lot more to do with how many people she's dating, how much she has to make room for in her schedule.
Not that she only makes room for the people she's dating. In fact, she spends a pretty remarkable amount of time deeper in the city, despite the potential danger, getting lunch with one Yamato Endo. Who she is not dating. For very specific and important reasons. She definitely likes him! Just...
