Summary
It’s a baby that looks back at him. His cheeks are round and red, splotchy from all of the tears he has let out. His nose bumps out from the middle of his face, small and terribly cute, though dripping from all of the crying. His hair is thick on his head but wispy, a pale blond that blends in with the sun’s rays. Splotches of juice and mush are smushed onto his face, his hands, his skin, probably due to his struggle in the blueberry bush. And, of course, the big blue eyes that are now staring into Philza’s own.
The baby looks like Phil.
And maybe, in the future, that’s the reason that Phil would give as to why his instincts went wild, as to why he immediately felt as though this child was flock, nestling—because the kid looked like Phil.

After two months of art lessons, Tommy very much regretted choosing it as a GCSE.
Not because he was bad at it or anything—no he loved drawing—but it was his teachers. It was how his school taught art. Everything about it sucked the creativity out of it. It took away his choice of expression, forced him to write coursework about overrated, dead artists and their dogshit contemporary pieces.
But then he got a new teacher to sub into his Friday lessons.
He didn't think someone whose last name referred to the stuff in chimneys could make him love art again. Yet, Mr Wilbur Soot did.

That’s what Techno used to tell Tommy whenever Wilbur was taken to a home, taken away from them to start a new family. As much as both Techno and Tommy wanted Wilbur to have a happy home, to be adopted, Techno knew that it would never happen. Not to kids like them, with a troubled past and trauma about a yard long.
“One day, you’re gonna have to go somewhere we can’t follow Toms, but I promise, no matter what happens. We will always love you”
That year, all Tommy had wished for was for Wilbur to come home to them, so they could be together again.

“Uh— Phil?” The man calls over his shoulder, golden eyes never leaving Tommy’s face, “I need your help over here.”
Tommy bares his teeth, wings fluttering threateningly. He doesn’t want the man to get help, he wants him to go away.
Another man steps into view. This one is short and blonde, with wings a hundred times bigger than Tommy’s, and he’s dressed just as nice as the first man. He hasn’t seen Tommy yet; he’s looking at the big pink one. Mouth open like he’s going to speak.
Tommy hisses again, louder this time. And the man's head snaps towards him— which doesn’t scare Tommy. He doesn’t shrink back, doesn’t try to tuck away his wings with a whine. Because he’s big. He’s big and scary; nothing is scarier than him and he knows it, because he says it.
“Oh,” The man says softly, expression falling at his eyes dart across Tommy’s face. “Oh, mate.”

Tommy is a small little gooseboy who gets picked up by some bewildered ambassadors and their son. Shenanigans ensue.

"Toms," He starts gently, vaguely apprehensive to hear the answer, "baby, when was the last time someone hugged you?"
or, Tommy is touch-starved and Wilbur is confused. Until they're both not anymore.

“And everyone is so old,” Tubbo complains. Somehow, without them knowing about it, Tubbo’s managed to swipe a waffle and is chewing on it happily. Sapnap stifles a laugh. “Well, not everyone, I guess- the kid in our room is our age, I think. He might be younger.”
Wilbur perks up. “Does he ice skate?”
“Yeah, he does. He’s got these sick skates and everything.” Tubbo explains. “He’s quiet though. We tried talking to him, but…”
“But?”
Tubbo shrugs. "He's quiet. He doesn't talk much. I guess he's busy."
or, Tommy's made it to the Olympics for figure skating- he's the youngest contestant on the ice and he's the favor for the gold. He's supposed to be living the dream. So why is he still so unhappy? And why do all these hockey players and snowboarders care so much about him?
