“Why are you here?” Jotaro asked him. Jotaro's gaze hardened, his eyes trained on Kakyoin's face with an intensity that was supposed to shake people up. Jotaro's natural defense, Star Platinum aside, was his ability to intimidate.
Except it was hard to feel intimidated by the man who tucked his face into your neck and told you that you were the world to him.
“Your wife called me,” Kakyoin admitted. There wasn't any point in beating around the bush anymore. Jotaro was suspicious of him again, this time more accurately. The time of pleasantries and reminiscing was over. It was time for Kakyoin to have the dreaded conversation he came here to have.
“My wife?” Jotaro asked, looking uncharacteristically shocked. The man who was able to foresee and adapt to any situation had clearly not expected Kakyoin to say that.

The word “Forever” was always spoken so carelessly amongst mortals, a promise spoken in the dark, a spur of the moment. Zhongli had never understood the need.
He had watched empires crumble under the weight of that word, had seen beings far older than the crust that he now walks upon use the same word with such certainty-- and yet where are they now, if not one with the dust of the ground that bore them?

Distress claws at him, sinking squalid claws into the soft part of his soul, and before he can fully process his own movements, Childe’s wrist is trapped under his hand, and his claws—oh, his claws—dig into soft flesh.
