Ricky stops mid-sentence, catching on to Gyuvin’s furrowed brow, widened eyes, and his lips pressed into a line; it chills him to the bone. In all their years together, this is an expression he’s never seen on his boyfriend.

Gyuvin pulls out a turquoise notebook from his pocket, spanning about the length and width of his palm, and wears its crinkles on the cover like a badge. Suddenly, Ricky feels like a caught criminal, held hostage by the worn bundle of paper presented before him.
