Summary
He was so sure that Ladybug would already push him off a rooftop if she knew his civilian identity worked at a café called “Paws Fur Coffee” of all names (the owner is a dog person, but he’ll take it), but his flub on the chalkboard menu just topped it all off.
His neat handwriting read back to him: “Chai Noir”.
(In which Adrien Agreste has some really cool ideas about the special drink of the week and gets to know a regular customer.)

“I've just been wondering all night. I used my mask for years to run away from my problems. Is...does it make sense to think she's doing the same by hiding behind her civilian identity?” He raised his head enough to peek at his companion.
Marinette looked at him in surprise, but her mouth seemed unable to form words.
…
“Hey. Hey Mari.” The girl turned reluctantly, grimacing as she saw her friend half sprawled across the table top.
“Draw me like one of your supervillains.” She waggled her eyebrows seductively.
“Alya. Put your ass back in that seat or so help me God-” she raised the chalk in her hand threateningly.
…
“I’m going to get her for this.” He shivered at how low her voice was.
“Please don’t hurt my friend, she keeps me sane during work.”
She burst out laughing at his plea.
…
“To be fair, the whole identity reveal thing didn't go exactly as I thought it would either. Thought it’d be more dramatic in the heat of battle or something when I didn't have time to make a fool of myself.” He managed a grin back at her.
“I... kind of did too. But hey,” he felt her shrug from the way her palm shifted over his eyes. “I think I like it better this way.”
…
In neat letters the blackboard read “Chai Noir.”
That’s all it took for her former celebrity crush to crack. It didn’t matter if he was cute; one punner in her life was already too much. She had to admit though, it was a good pun for the fact that the drink matched her partner.

Little presents were scattered here and there throughout her day. Sometimes it was a flower or a pretty rock or synthetic feathers or fabric scraps or beads or thread or a little note that said, “Smile!” or “Your hair looks awesome today”.

Summary
Chat Noir, notorious supervillain of Paris, experiences a wardrobe malfunction in the best and worst possible place: Marinette Dupain-Cheng’s balcony.
Heart pounding, Chat pins Marinette’s wrists to the balcony. She stares up at him, her blue eyes kaleidoscopic from the lights hanging overhead, her features twisted into a scowl.
“Why are you trying to take my Miraculous?” Chat hisses.
“Because—you—I—” Marinette splutters, her eyes dipping down below Chat’s face. “Why is your suit unzipped?”
“I—well…” Chat sighs. “My zipper got stuck.”

Chat’s eyes fall on the needle tucked in the kit, along with nylon thread, which he’s only had to use twice. “Isn’t that nice, Marinette?” Chat murmurs, applying another butterfly stitch. “I sew, too.”
…
Why is it so easy to talk to Marinette? Is Chat just that desperate for affection and understanding? Or is it something about those bright eyes, that kind smile, those delicate hands, that lets her reach in and pull out his secrets like splinters?
…
“I don’t deserve that.”
“Maybe you do,” Marinette says. “Maybe you should stop telling yourself you’re a horrible person who doesn’t deserve things.”

Summary
Ladybug may have been a hero, but weight of an entire city was too much to ask of anyone, let alone a child. It was only a matter of time until it had started to slip through the cracks and into her daily life, unable to hide the trauma of fighting day after day with no end in sight.
Marinette was always told to keep her superhero life hidden. That no one could know– the sense of duty was branded into her mind. And so no matter what, it was a secret she would keep.

“Will you hold me?” She asked softly.
Warm arms instantly wrapped around her, pulling her into a fierce embrace that was nothing but soft. She leaned against his chest, eyes pressing shut as he buried his face into her hair. She knew that he needed this as much as she did, that the same mental anguish she went through he carried, and that times like these were their closest thing to an escape.
