“I have something new in mind,” he says, tapping the vibrator into his other hand rhythmically. James’ eyes follow the movement, mind clearly elsewhere, and so Regulus keeps tapping for a few moments, just to see how long it takes for James to register that he’s spoken at all.
It takes ten seconds before James distractedly looks up, head turning before his eyes do, like he has to drag his stare away. It takes another moment before he opens his mouth, before he prompts, “something new?”
