Sanji gets like this sometimes. Tetchy and listless at once, trying to cover it all with a frenetic cheeriness that quickly frays at the edges. He’s high-energy and overenthusiastic, a veritable hurricane of round the clock snacks and personalised drinks, quickly tempered by reticence and frustration.
By the time Zoro catches on, there’s a cloud around Sanji’s head that’s only partly made up of cigarette smoke. Sometimes it dissipates on its own, and sometimes it billows out into a hazard sign.
