“Who did this to you?”
His voice is quiet but Rey can feel the anger behind the words. His eyes were intense, raging fires lit behind them and while she’s incredibly aware of her cheek still cradled in his hand, surprisingly so soft and gentle against her heated skin, she’s also aware of how his other fist is clenched so tightly, his knuckles a pale white in the low light of the room. A strange paradox that was emblematic of the man standing far too close to her.

“I had a vision,” Xavier explained. His gaze flickered over to her. “Wednesday and I have reason to believe that Thornhill wants to resurrect Crackstone.”
“Should we even be here?” Divina questioned, glancing over her shoulder uneasily.
“Witchcraft of that caliber needs to be done under strict conditions,” Bianca supplied. “My guess is the blood moon in a few days.” Enid whimpered and Ajax put a comforting arm around her.
“Is there anything we can do to stop it?” Eugene asked.
Xavier shrugged. “All I know is that this seems to be the key.” He stepped back and indicated something on the side. Wednesday frowned and walked around to stand at his side. The key. Her hand, outstretched in front of the gate, easily falling open at her slightest touch. Goody’s piercing gaze.
