When Jaskier was four, he slipped his mother’s watch and went to the field to gather a bouquet of dandelions. He climbed back into the yard, as stealthy as a child really cared to be, and crept over to the barn. In the barn, lived a secret. (The man he thought his father said the secret was a monster, a plague. His mother said the secret was his sister.)

Jaskier comes from a far humbler background, and would really like to know why Yennefer never came back for her youngest brother.

Summary
Geralt stands there and looks at them and wants. Wants what they have with each other, mostly, but here, seeing them so content without him, he can also admit that he wants them — both of them. He can’t have either, of course; that much is obvious even to him. But that doesn’t matter to his traitorous heart, which wants and wants and wants, which yearns for things he cannot have.
He doesn’t know how long he stands there, unable to tear himself away. He watches, and yearns, and only returns to his initial task when Yen snuffles and burrows further into Jaskier, his arms tightening around her even in sleep. It’s not his place to intrude.
Or: Jaskier and Yennefer keep joking about being married. Except from the outside, it doesn’t look like they’re joking.

Summary
Look, Jaskier's got a lot going on. He's painfully aware that there are cataclysmic events happening and that the troubled teenager he knows might save the world or speed along the end of days. He's also in love with a man who's never even admitted that they're friends, which is almost as bad.
Oh, and he's still working as the Sandpiper, only now a terrifying eldritch creature has entrusted him with the Song of the Seven to give hope to the elves and help them fight back against their oppression. It's probably the bravest thing he's ever done, but not everyone sees it that way.
Luckily he knows some people who excel at last minute rescues.
... then he just has to figure out how to tell Geralt why so many people are trying to kill him. This is going to go great.
