Assassin max who is sent to kill charles leclerc, who is taking over the underworld slowly and smoothly. Max finds out charles is his soulmate the moment he is about to kill him. Shocked, max runs away, unable to process the situation, while charles begin the search for the only assassin that ever got this close to him but ran away—for what reason? He couldn't let go. So now the lion becomes the hunted.

As his fingers grip the cold handle of his blade, his arm raised over his head, the other hand holding onto Leclerc’s shoulder, about to drive his silver blade into the tan skin—that’s when he notices an unusually familiar mark glinting at him—as if mocking him. Max swallows harshly, shaking his head; no, that is not possible. It must be a trick of the light, yes, that is it! He resumes, just wanting to be done with this now, raising his arm again—only to find his hands trembling at the action, unable to drive the blade into his target.

His shaking hand pulls the robe apart, properly this time, coming face to face with a very peculiar but exact same mark he has on his inner thigh.
Charles Leclerc is his soulmate.
Or Max is an assassin sent to kill the Ferrari heir, only to discover his target is his soulmate. Devastated by the reveal, he runs away, or at least tries to—knowing there is no refuge back home. In this world, the soulmate's share pain. Which means they only feel it, but don't get the bruises, scratches etc. So Charles grew up with lots of pain comming through the soulmate connection, thinking he was so sorry for his soulmate who probably didn't have the best childhood.
But as they both turned 18, it suddenly stopped (Jos couldn't really hit Max with him competing in F1), so why does it hurt so so much now? What has happened? And it has been weeks since the original injury but his head keeps swimming and aching and and- wait, the only driver with an injury in the last few months was Max, right?
tldr: yes, we are milking that Silverstone crash drama even more

Inspired by reincarnation novels set in an unidentified period of time but clearly somewhere in the Middle Ages.
Our lovers were meant to be together but the villain was too envious so they plotted against one of the main characters and got them killed. But they're soulmates so one of them wakes up with the memories of the past life and plans for revenge.
I've put Lestappen but if don't swing this way feel free to choose any other Max pairing.
It doesn't really matter who gets back in time – no matter the POV it'll be interesting. If you want them nobles or of different social standings, magical realism or no magic at all, omegaverse or not – go wild! :) -

Its very rare for soulmates to be part of completely different territories. Verstappen and Leclerc are enemies, their territories too far apart, with no truce in sight. Max learns that Charles is his soulmate during one of the vain negotiations—but he doesn't say anything, knowing they can't be together—not when their parents are out for blood.
Dark au with top!16. Cunning charles who stops at nothing to find who his soulmate is once he learns Jos is planning to kill his soulmate as one of his cruel tactics. Max being hailed as a ruthless person but is much more careful and caring than perceived, and Charles thinking it can never be Max and ending up falling for him slowly, then quickly—realizing with horror that he does not care about whoever his soulmate is anymore. Not when Max is in the picture.

Soulmates can be both romantic and platonic. A person has hand prints of their soulmates on their body. The closer to heart, the stronger the bond. The hand prints are coloured but there's no bad colours per se, they just indicate what kind of bond soulmates have and/or this colour is somehow special to them.
I thought more about gen: as a child / a teenager Max didn't have many hand prints, F1 was also not very welcoming at first. With time he learns to accept himself and then more people reveal themselves as his soulmates. I thought rookies / NLS team / RBR team but other F1 drivers are also fine. It's up to you and your inspiration. So yeah, life is hard but at least Max has his people, they love him the way he is.
It can also take romantic turn but frankly speaking I don't care about it that much, can be in the background as well as the center of your attention.
