Summary
It all started when Nie MingJue happened to be at Yiling and decided to visit Burial Mounds, only to overhear that Wei WuXian already lost his golden core. He offered everyone at Burial Mounds a shelter at Qinghe, with a condition that Wei WuXian would be Nie HuaiSang's mentor, guiding him to be the greatest Sect Leader in the future.
Everything seemed perfectly fine until Lan WangJi and Wei WuXian announced that they wished to marry each other. Nie MingJue had no idea why, but there was a strange feeling growing within him.
That was when he realized what HuaiSang said was right.
He had fallen in love.

Lan Zhan loses his memories after an accident at fighting the Wen’s at Nightless City. He can’t remember the last few years. The war, being indoctrinated and humiliated by Wen Chao, and most importantly for his brother and Uncle he can’t imagine ever meeting Wei Ying. Lan Zhan never fell in love with the most unsuitable cultivator possible, he can now live a life more suitable for his station without being dragged down by the YiLing Patriarch. It seems too good to be true. Maybe it is! Meanwhile without the balance of the Lan's the cultivation world has been aiming their hatred at both Wei Ying and the Jiang Sect, forcing Wei Ying to make some hard choices.
