Will Open Doors also be archiving the 2011 revival challenge, HD Erised? It looks like the challenge site for that one is down as of today. Are OD volunteers aware/will you reach out to them also?

We're sorry to hear the 2011 HD Erised revival is offline. We’re going to investigate whether this archive meets our criteria for rescue and, if so, ask the mod if they would be interested in working with us. We aren't able to import an archive without the consent of its moderator, so please cross your fingers for their reply, as the revival was ran by different mods than the original Big Bang challenge. If you have contact information for the moderator, it would also help us out if you could provide that to us (through our contact form) and/or directly ask the moderator to contact us.
In the meantime, if you would like to help preserve the history of HD Erised, please consider documenting it on Fanlore! If you have any questions about how to create or expand a Fanlore page, please let us know.

Hi! I think some wires might have gotten slightly crossed here. HD Erised is still an ongoing yearly December exchange fest, continuing the tradition not of Big Bang but of HD Hols, a Christmas exchange fest that ran until (I believe) 2012. Was there an original Erised that preceded the current iteration (since 2013 I thought)?
That said, this DID make me look into the earliest Erised fics and yeah... actually I am having a hard time finding them archived on LJ, dreamwidth, or here on Ao3 (earliest available anywhere being 2014). I wouldn't have thought I was forgetting any platforms, but was there originally an independent website? This was more than a decade, several fandoms, and a case of covid ago, for better or worse...
(And of course, thank you as always Open Doors! Preserving old fandom is so important! Not only so I can remember what actually happened... 😅)
