Summary
This is part one of a Hannibal Ancient Rome alternate universe series called "Il Doctore." The majority of the story takes place in 75 B.C.E., near the city of Rome. Will is a wealthy senator's son. He sees a gladiator fighting in the arena, who they call "Hannibal the Cannibal" and he becomes enamored. Hannibal is a slave in this alternate universe, but he is still crafty and manipulative, so he pulls whatever strings he can to get what he wants. Spartacus is only mentioned in passing in this volume, but the story takes place in the Spartacus series' universe.

Summary
This is part two of the Hannibal Ancient Rome alternate universe series, "Il Doctore." Will struggles to maintain ownership of the gladiator Hannibal. He also finds himself shocked by the increasing depravity of his own desires. In the meantime, Will's foes fall one by one under suspicious circumstances and Aeliana becomes nervous. Senator Metellus, from the Spartacus series, appeals to Will to help fund an auxiliary and quash Spartacus' rebellion.

Summary
This is part three of the Hannibal Ancient Rome alternate universe series, "Il Doctore." Will continues to have nightmares about the people who have died in connection to Hannibal, and he decides to look into their deaths. Hannibal meets Lucretia Batiatus and Ilithyia Glaber, and discovers that he can influence them. Meanwhile, Aeliana confronts Will about her suspicions toward Hannibal, and his obsession. Hannibal gives Will even more reasons for him to be obsessed.
