Summary
"Her door knob rattled before three loud knocks pounded against the door in quick succession. Eve jumped, pocketing the heart before scrambling to the door.
She unlocked it and opened it just a crack. She peered out to find a nearly collapsed Villanelle perched on her doorstep. Her shit was in shreds, barely clinging to her form. Her skin was decorated in shallow cuts that burned red with blood. Her face was bruised, lip broken and bleeding. Her breathing was loud, loud enough to make its way to Eve."

Summary
"She yawned before shaking her head, it had been a long day, maybe she had forgotten to lock it that morning but as she opened the door something so familiar, so cloying that it all clicked into place.
“You know,” She said through another yawn, dropping her work bag to the floor, her eyes barely registering Villanelle’s form on her bed, “It’s impolite to invite yourself over.”
She headed towards the kitchen, in a hopeless attempt to satiate her want but as she started to open the fridge she realized that Villanelle hadn’t made a witty remark back. “Villanelle?”"

Summary
“You should really lock those windows up there.” Villanelle scrunched up her nose, eyebrows jumping up high, “Who knows what kind of pervert can get in?”
Eve sighed with a soft smile, “I’ve missed you.”
Villanelle crossed the floor, dancing around the edge of the sofa, bracketing Eve with her hands, one on each side of her shoulders. She leaned down, her lips barely gracing Eve’s before she stopped. The heat of their breathing mingled on each other's skin.
“I see a month hasn’t changed you.” Eve’s lips connected with Villanelle’s as she said ‘changed’ and Villanelle let out an unsteady breath. “You tease.”
“I’ve missed you, too, ma tigresse.” Villanelle closed the distance between them, hand drifting from the sofa to Eve’s cheek. Eve gently held Villanelle’s chin between her finger and thumb and Villanelle melted into the action.

Summary
There was an unspoken energy about this, Villanelle, soft-faced, completely enraptured and Eve just singing. Tension filled the space like gravity pulling at their forms until they were nose to nose. “Seamstress for the band.” A shiver ran down Villanelle’s spine. “Pretty eyed. Pirate smile, you’ll marry a music man.”
“Ballerina, you must’ve seen her, dancing in the sand.” Eve’s voice was slowing down, getting lost in the moment as if it were honey, “Now she’s in me, always will be, tiny dancer in my hand.”
Their noses were touching by now and Villanelle’s eyes dipped down to Eve’s lips. Soon enough, lips were on lips, clashing with fever. Eve’s hand clutched at the lapels of Villanelle’s blazer and Villanelle’s hands got lost in Eve’s hair.

Summary
Villanelle sat on the bed in the silence of the room, her face was blank and her cheeks were marred with the wet tracks of tears. Eve paused in her place, offering up a small, “Villanelle?” She didn’t move, didn’t want to encroach on Villanelle’s space, wanted to give her the room. “Hey, Villanelle.” She said once more, voice soft.
Villanelle finale turned her way, recognition barely coloring her features, and let out a shuddering breath, “Hey.” She tried a smile but it broke instantly and fell under.
Eve took her careful steps to the bed, feet barely thudding against the lush carpet, “What’s wrong?” She carefully dipped into the mattress, springs creaking, Villanelle still unmoving. Eve reached her hand out and let it hover over Villanelle’s shoulder. She was stuck in orbit unrelenting to Villanelle’s gravity until she was given permission to land. She curled her fingers up into a fist and slowly brought her hand away.
