His body was shaking with anger, sadness, regret, he couldn’t tell. This was the second time today he had blown up at his parents. He was so fucking stupid. He buried his nails into his inner elbow and forced them to glide down to his wrist, leaving behind three lines of pink. It wasn’t enough, though; it was never enough.
Or, Shane and Ilya's son has been silently battling depression.

A sound had ripped out from him and forced a breath to be pulled in after, had he screamed? Ilya only knew pain in that moment, white searing pain radiated from his knee and from below it, he had tears already down his cheeks, the pain so horrible he felt it too painful to breathe, the lights above him swirled again. He saw the medics, registered there were people crowding around him, saw the hands reach for him, and at the first touch, the first rearrangement of his position, Ilya screamed again, and found his vision filled with blackness.
