Summary
“Are you going to keep asking me redundant questions about my resume?” Betty snapped.
Jughead shut his mouth, reviewing all of the other items on the sheet of paper.
He reached one line and Betty watched his eyes dart over the words in front of him a few times before he looked up in awe. She knew exactly what he was reading and she hoped that he wouldn’t say the words.
“Military Order of the Purple Heart,” he said.
Images flashed through her head in rapid succession.
Red hair.
"We’re going down. I repeat, we’re going down."
Impact.
Trying and failing to move.
Then nothing.
Waking up in a hospital.
“Elizabeth?” Jughead asked cautiously. Betty snapped out of her trance. “Are you okay? You look a little pale.”
“Fine,” she said shortly, clearing her throat. “Yes, I have the Purple Heart.”

Summary
As Captain Cooper stands on the side of the tarmac, she smiles. Wisps of her blonde hair whip around her face in the wind. She’s watching a C-5M Super Galaxy - the US Army’s cargo plane model - in position for takeoff. Clad in her OCPs and flight helmet in-hand, she hears the engines revv. Moments later, the plane is in the air, heading toward its destination.
She had her own mission to fly soon with her team, in an Apache helicopter rather than in a cargo plane but nonetheless.
“Whatcha thinkin’ about, Cap’?”
Betty turns around, setting her eyes on her childhood best friend and his fiery red hair. He has a constantly-present dopey smile on his face.
“The mission,” she replies. “Supposed to be a good day for flying, Sergeant Andrews.”
Staff Sergeant Andrews chuckles to himself, knocking the heel of his combat boot on the pavement. “Well… you always say the view’s better from up there, ma’am.”
