His memory is weird these days, the future-past all tangled up with the version of himself that exists here in the 50s. He tries to remember an earlier interaction with Jughead and all he gets are a mirage of memories; them packing away tchotchkes at Pop's when they needed to move to a new space, flashes of him with Tabitha, his arm soft around her back, and then further back, or yesterday, or neither, Jughead teaching him the word iconoclast during a study session just like this one, and Archie almost immediately forgetting what it means.
"I really haven't seen Jughead in a while," Archie says slowly.
(Or: It's the summer of 1956. For once the four of them have all the time in the world.)

Elizabeth Cooper has been investigating the farm the entire school year, and when they finally get her in their clutches, they won't let her go. They have been waiting for her. They need her. She will complete their family. Alice, Kevin, Cheryl, and Toni were all recruited to lure her in.
Betty is captured for 40 days and nights while her chosen family on the outside worked tirelessly to find her. During that time, the ritual was to be completed. Every adult man in the farm would have their chance with her, and between all 40 of them, he was sure she would fall pregnant with his first perfect child.
After rescue, there will be some recovery and fluff, I don't know how much longer the story will last after her rescue, but I will play it by ear. More tags will be added as needed. This is my first fic on here, please be kind.

Despite it being lunch break, the student lounge was fairly empty — and that with it being a community college and the only place with vending machines. Jughead sat on the couch, next to Betty, though he read a book instead of paying attention to anyone or anything.
That was at least until something landed on his thighs. He merely looked up from his book with a raised eyebrow, when Archie leaned on his lap. His elbows rested on Jughead's thighs, his chin in his hands and grin on his face.
"I've got a question" Archie started and Jughead couldn't help but exhale softly, preparing himself for the inevitable.
“Shoot away”
"Okay. How much garlic can you take before, you know..." Archie trailed off dramatically, glancing around before baring his teeth and letting out a ridiculous hissing sound "Ssssss — oh, it burns, it burns!"
