"Obviously, he had been curious at the time but for someone like him who thought that manliness had no gender but that it depended on one's way of being, it didn't change much. He had often found himself thinking about what he would have to deal with once it presented, rut or heat, but he never found himself hoping to be one over another.
The omegas didn't have an easy life as well as the alphas - although for totally different reasons - and the betas, with their ability to adapt to the needs of their partner, weren't well regarded by society.
He still remembered the day he discovered he was an omega, just before starting high school. His mother had seemed worried, sure he would be an alpha, worried that his way of being so unusual for an omega would make him an excluded, or even worse a target, but Kirishima had managed to calm her down with some difficulty. After the incident that happened during his last heat, neither of them wanted to risk it again but Kirishima felt confident about the pills Recovery Girl had given him. The omega had to admit, though, that he was a little worried about the alpha. He didn't want Bakugou to spend his high school years standing at attention ready to hold back, as if they didn't already have enough worries outside of their second gender. Kirishima knew that if Bakugou wanted he could do it, it wasn't that what worried him, and the omega would stay with him whenever he needed it anyway. Even if they couldn't claim each other, it didn't mean they weren't of each other and Kirishima was determined to prove it to him every day.

"He ran his fingers instinctly over the ring as he glanced out of the corner of his eye at the alpha next to him staring straight ahead in turn.
"It's over." The omega whispered with a hint of sadness. "Can you believe it?"
Bakugou snorted. "It had to happen sooner or later."
Kirishima laughed at the alpha's feigned indifference, knowing that in fact he too was touched as much as the omega was. He could tell not only from his scent but also from his gaze that he still insisted on turning away from him.
"Don't get nostalgic now." Bakugou mocked him, and Kirishima saw him raise the corner of his mouth in a grin.
"These are our last moments here in the dorm." Said the omega now turning to him with a smile still on his lips. "Won't you miss it?" He asked, certain already of the answer from the other.
"I won't miss those extras, that's for sure."
