During a trip to Chicago to visit family, Derek finds that not only has Gayle moved to Illinois, she also works for the attorney his mother uses for her estate plan, and one of her clients happens to be an old friends of the BAU.
His trip (and visit) is cut short when Hotch calls Derek to tell him they are coming to Illinois - they have a series of kidnappings & murders.
