Summary
“Cadet,” a voice said, too loud, “where’s your gear?”
“Huh, uh?” Marco groaned in response, unable to make sense of the question. He had his gear, it was— oh.
His eyes snapped open. The world around him was too bright, and his vision was blurred, but he could make out a silhouette above him. It came rushing back to him, landing on the roof, Annie taking his gear, and being left for dead, but that couldn’t be right. He could remember teeth clamping down around his head, the pressure of his skull starting to cave in as they carved through his flesh, and the darkness that followed—
Crunch.

Summary
When Annie had told him, shaken to the core, that she’d seen Marco at the depot, that he’d acted like nothing happened and even wished her well, he’d thought the guilt was getting to her. That Reiner had finally cracked completely, and Annie had started hallucinating, and that their mission was falling apart at the seams because nobody could follow the damn plan.
Of course, Annie was right.
