And shouta doesn't say “thanks for saving my ass” and he doesn't say “you'll make a badass underground hero if that's what you want” he doesn't even say “you know the glow just adds to the mystique”
He will eventually.
But for now he says

Or Shouta took izuku on as an intern, said intern saves his ass.
