Summary
Kevin stared at the empty hallway long after Baden was already gone, because he couldn’t bring himself to chase after him. And despite that, his legs didn’t seem to want to move, to carry him the other way either. Kevin had gotten what he wanted, vented at the first officer a little, and now Baden was mad at him. So now he just stood there, and he couldn't help but feel that he deserved it.
A match ends in the survivors' victory, but Kevin is upset with Jose for being too reckless. He goes to find him to confront the other survivor about his hasty decisions, but things spin a little out of control.

Summary
In the short moment between dawn and sunrise, Jose wakes up to something they rarely witness anymore, now that they are locked in the Oletus Manor. There is a gap in the thick fog and little bit of sunlight seeps through. He stays awake to marvel at the flickering gold, and to watch Kevin still sleeping contently beside him.
I finished this at 4 am because I couldn't get this scene out of my head. Something soft and shamelessly self indulgent, not beta read because why would I write things at reasonable hour. Just kidding, I don't have a habit of writing at this ungodly hours.

Summary
Kevin and Jose have been together long enough to have fallen into comfortable patterns, shared traditions coloring their domestic life. A takeaway to their winter retreat is what both have been looking forward to for weeks, to get a break from everything else. Just spending time with each other, surrounded by snow and all the time in the world, if just for a week's time.

This is my tribute to the Kevjose server. What lies ahead is something I never thought I'd write but here we go- Yet again I stay faithful to my tendency to write more AU's than I write about the canon setting. Oh boy.
