Summary
When Alfin sees that black-gloved hand stretched to her in an invitation to a dance, she at first is a little stunned. Then she lifts her eyes from the hand to the face of the man before her and can't help but beam in such suffocating delight it hurts in her chest. His lilac eyes are so gentle looking into hers, and there is so much certainty and resolve as well, so Alfin can see he means what he says without hesitation. Oh, she is so happy right now she can't care less that there is a whole hall of nobles watching them. Smiling so hard her cheeks hurt the princess graciously bends in a curtsy, accepting the hand.
