Stefan Silver is a man who enacts control behind closed doors, when he tires of dealing with the pressures and audacities of his business-elite life and wishes to release his stress. Another way he also has an outlet is visiting the high-class nightclub, "La Dualitia Dell'uomo," and inviting anyone to challenge him. If they are worthy opponents, he'll oblige paying full attention to the game in lieu of multitasking, naturally. He never would've expected the changes in his life on one fateful Sunday night when a man who calls himself "Cain" challenged him deliberately with an unfavorable position for black: the Pirc Defence. Somehow, Cain agrees to a contract with Stefan but with a caveat: the position in their game of chess will determine who is the master when it comes time for a session.
At first, Stefan agrees out of sheer confidence -- there was no way Cain would have an upset win. However, as time goes on, things are not what they seem: it'd be safe to assume there's lurking, invasive secrets behind a man who uses a public alias over his real name...

This will have some elements of the game, but it's mostly an AU with canon divergence. Cain Angelus' story is not yet released in-game so all of this is just a fan AU interpretation. All chapters will be written in script (screenplay) format, and this is not in the same universe as Rats at the Mercy of Men series.

Summary
Investment manager, Stefan Silver, was extremely accustomed to a life of non-permanence: after all, a contract between a dom and a sub, purely for pleasure, only lasts for so long until both parties decide to move on. After a troublesome year of business negotiation with other prominent families like the Black's and the Quinn's, he spent the rest of his nights on the third floor of La Dualita D'ell'uomo, seeking a chess game from players at or above his own level and new submissive partners if he had no active "contracts."
However, on one Sunday night, a stranger approaches his board and deliberately chooses an unfavorable opening position for black: the Pirc Defense. At first, Stefan thinks this must be a prank, but the stranger is insistent, surprisingly able to come up with counterplay moves. If only he knew that was the catalyst for what was to come...
