Summary
Recently, the teenage pop idol and student Len Kagamine has been plagued with recurring dreams about a forgotten kingdom in Europe. He and his twin sister Rin have at least managed to capitalize on it, writing and performing a set of songs that quickly became hits. He can't help but wonder, though: is this normal for an android? And why does the manager seem to know more than he's telling?
Miku loves everything about her life: the chance to express herself, the fame, the easy good grades that come with enhanced intelligence, and the support of her informal family of fellow Vocaloids. She would like nothing more than for this to last forever-maybe with a little more attention from a certain blond boy-but life always has other plans. Who is this "Michaela", and why does she feel a growing sense of dread?
It's the hottest and driest summer any of them can remember. The manager has booked them a vacation to a historical site on the border of Europe. While there, they discover something that will change their understanding of history and of themselves.

Summary
The Vocaloids thought they were fairly normal-or whatever passes for normal among a group of android celebrities. A few days ago, however, they found out they were the present-day incarnations of historical figures from a forgotten set of kingdoms in Europe-Rin was a princess whose tyrannical reign inspired a revolution, Luka was a sorceress on the hunt for demon vessels, and the others were all players in their continent-wide tragedy. In addition, Miku discovered a digital copy of the city and fell victim to a plot that resulted in an aristocratic teenager being transformed into another version of her. "Abnormal" is a bit of an understatement.
The school year is starting, bringing some sense of order back into their lives. The digital city is a tempting new frontier accompanied by its own dangers. Maybe a little bit of positive excitement is what everyone needs to recover from the recent shocks and heightened emotions of the summer. Life, however, has other plans, as the dreams are only just beginning. In the meantime, the general public will soon discover their own reasons to question their perceptions of the Vocaloids.
