One of the important lessons Marinette learned very early in life was ‘do not, under any circumstance, follow a complete stranger hiding their face in a dark alley because they seem to ask you to.’ And, alright, she was paraphrasing this one, it was more in the line of ‘don’t follow strangers,’ but well.
All of that to say, Marinette knew this was a bad idea.
