Her reply comes easily.
“She hates a lot of the things I call her. She likes me anyways.”
“Hm, yeah, I guess so. And you like her?”
“I didn’t say that.”

Summary
Caitlyn isn’t hesitant out of fear, Jinx is sure. Caitlyn doesn’t fear her.
(Sometimes she wonders if Caitlyn fears anything, wonders what she might fear, wonders if it’s all just hidden under Caitlyn’s practiced poker face and poise.)
Caitlyn has always made it clear to Jinx; she is not someone to fear, not in Caitlyn’s eyes.
You’re not a monster, she would say, and she’d sound so sure of herself, so convincing, so certain Jinx wouldn’t put a bullet through her skull within a moment if she made a single incorrect move.
(Jinx could do it. She wouldn’t, because of so many reasons.)

Summary
Caitlyn, as Jinx had known her for as long as she’d lived in Piltover with the Kirammans, had crafted her life into a steady, consistent structure - one which had promised Jinx the exact location of the topsider at all times without fail.
And Caitlyn - at Jinx’s insistence - had ever so efficiently taken a battering ram and drove it into her structure, had watched her own creation, her own day-by-day constants, topple over like a poorly stacked pile of wood.

Summary
She remembers how the crows would caw when they found her, down in the undercity.
Didn't matter if she was in Zaun or Piltover — the crows followed her.
Followed her from deep in the depths all the way to the Kiramman Mansion. Up from the dark, damp trenches of the undercity to shining, shimmering salvation. And they cawed as they collected in the yard, along the fences, circling in the skies above those grand rooftops.
Cawing, cackling.
Same difference.

The crows have always followed Jinx. She's heard them for so long, she's not sure she'd know what their silence would sound like.
