He didn’t want to go. He really didn’t. If he thinks about how he could lie in his bed now and play the new Pokémon game his mother just brought for him he wanted to turn around and go home. He really was on the verge of just calling Kuroo and ask him if he could give him the present for his eight birthday on another day but he knew that he couldn’t do that and the thought of going the same long route again made him dispose that thought fast.
