“Zach,” he groans, struggling to get a whole sentence out. I give him a hard kiss and slide my tongue into his mouth, tasting him.
“It’s true,” I say as I break the kiss, starting to rock my hips back and forth. “And I love seeing you get like this, when you can just let go… let me take care of you, ok? I want to make you feel so good.”

Ruben stills in my arms, freezing like a block of ice.
I freeze too.
Neither of us are breathing. The only things moving in the room are my words, which I see floating out of my mouth, crystalizing in the air, and turning into a gaudy neon sign that’s flashing like a cheery reminder that I fucked up big time:
