Summary
It's a small hand that's holding you now, really. Or at least smaller than you expected—smaller than his would be, the exact size of your own hand if you forced your palm and fingers flat and held out a hand to him. Which you do, after a minute—you might be tired and hurt, but you're also curious.
Sometimes you think that's going to be what kills you. Not carelessness, not insubordination—just curiosity. Just how, sometimes, you can't help but need to know.
After a strife, Dave gets an unexpected visitor with some in-depth knowledge of the Strider lifestyle, and has a talk that needs to be had.

Summary
The camera's running. Bro stands in front of it for a long moment, considering it. Then he turns, slow and deliberate, and starts to pace, careful to stay within the bounds of the camera's frame. You stay put, watching him for any sign of what the fuck he's doing. After a moment you realize that you should be listening instead of just looking; he's speaking under his breath, just loud enough that you can make out a few words when he's on the end of his circuit closest to you. You hear "come down," the first time, "a challenge," the second, nothing the third time (you guess he does have to pause sometimes) and, finally, "Jack Noir."
Bro makes a stunningly bad decision. The rest of the family picks up the pieces.

Summary
You don't think any of them really understand the makeup, or at least what it is to you. Under everything, you are...unremarkable. Under everything, under the makeup, without the makeup, you're not you. Just...a vessel. A puppet. His puppet still, after all this time, and while you were fine with that once, you don't think that you should be now. You don't think that you ever will be again.
Dave's not comfortable with Cal's preferred makeup look. Luckily, there's no shortage of people who're more than happy to try to help them find a new look.
