Summary
But it wasn’t unusual or uncommon for a heat to be brought on by stress, a vestigial survival thing, to make any angry Alpha in the vicinity turn from the kill instinct to the claim one. In the end not the best option for an Omega but better bonded than dead, or so their ancestors thought. Or nature did. Or something. It didn’t matter. What mattered, and what sucked, was that a badly-timed surprise pop quiz, and a week of overtime with Fat Gum added up to… this.
This… vestigial sex response.
Maki goes into an unexpected early heat, and as a rare dominant-presending Omega this could become dangerous for his Alpha best friend and roommate.

Summary
It wasn’t cold enough to warrant being bundled up, but Tamaki loved the fact that Mirio put their interlaced hands into his big pocket to keep them both warm. The forest was lovely, dense with bird calls and the shifting of leaves. Tamaki closed his eyes and just breathed, allowing the smell of humus, of damp bark, and crushed lichen fill his lungs. Their shoes shuffled through the dry leaves already piling up beneath the trees that spoke more of oncoming autumn than the depth of spring, once in a while something snapped a twig nearby or landed heavily on a branch above their heads.
It was peaceful.
It was alive.
