Summary
“You’re not…” Childe’s head may have been angled like a baffled puppy, but he couldn’t help it, “Put off by all of that?”
As the disk of orange dipped below the Liyuan waters and the twilight sky remained illuminated by dusky remnants of what had been, Zhongli’s golden-edged features took on a radiance of their own. It wasn’t the lights playing tricks on him when Childe saw the man’s eyes gleam, and he craved to know what that meant.
“Perhaps I give you too much credit.” He was smiling, now, and Childe’s breath caught in his throat. That was certainly new. “Maybe you do not listen as much as I thought you do.”
Childe processes just how different Rex Lapis, God of Contracts, and Zhongli, Wangsheng Funeral Consultant, really are.
They coincide at the worst of times, and it does some truly awful things to his heart.

Summary
“Are you enjoying this?” The Adeptus mulled, the air from his words prickling Childe’s cheek; the Harbinger’s breath hitched when a lone claw slipped over a sensitive spot by his navel, making Zhongli pause. “I… would like to take my time with you. To make sure you undeniably understand, that this—“
Now, in the privacy of the fantastical bathhouse, something had changed; even the phrases Zhongli spoke sounded much more believable, appealing in their kindness and drawing out all of Childe’s insecurities like bees to a flower.
“—is something that should yield no guilt.”
Or: Childe dreams of the man he loves. The lucid dream allows him to follow through with some very tempting fantasies... as well as comprehend their very-real consequences.
An extra from the fic "What I Cannot Put into Words, I Offer You in the Weight of Gold." Takes place between Chapter 20 and 21 (20.5, if you will), before their fight in the Morepesok storage shed. Could POSSIBLY be read as a stand-alone? But makes much more sense with the background.

Summary
Ajax was truly precious; he was a man with ambitions lofty enough to rival Tienheng-shan, and immensely interesting company to keep.
Zhongli sought out said-company whenever he could.
An associate, to an enemy, to a friend. A human who had fallen into the depths of carnage and never escaped; a bloodthirsty soldier who held more in common with ancient gods and monsters than his own flesh and blood.
A jewel polished by the heartless brutality of the Abyss, only made more brilliant by his overwhelming keenness towards self-improvement.
A being like Childe was never meant to be tamed; a wild spirit forcibly curbed by a god’s selfishness was inexcusable. Shackling Ajax to a Harbinger’s name, Tartaglia, the Tsaritsa’s Eleventh, without thought or care to the name given to him at birth…
As if Ajax didn’t exist in her presence at all.
Or: Zhongli and the Tsaritsa have a long-overdue meeting regarding the fate of the Eleventh Harbinger; tensions flare, godly bickering ensues, and an ancient dragon bares his fangs.
Along with his heart.

Summary
“Zhongli.” He glanced down again at himself as the Archon took a seat on the edge of the luohan, the atmosphere charged with Zhongli’s godly influence. It shrouded the room in a haze of gold, saturating Childe’s air with an acquainted, invasive heaviness. “We just spent half a day together, and I’m quite positive that not much has changed in the span of time I saw you last. Don’t I look the same as always?”
Again, the ex-Geo Archon’s eyes receded into pinpointed slits; draconic jewels of Cor Lapis only viewed by those who had earned the Prime Adeptus’ confidence.
They slid across Childe’s chest like physical weights, etching paths of fire in their wake, scrutinizing and drinking in the Harbinger all at once.
“No, you do not.”
OR: Childe returns from Fontaine with new battle experience gained, powerful enemies defeated, and the scars to prove it.
Zhongli takes a keen interest in his lover's learning process.Series

Summary
“Are you— Are you laughing at me?”
“Not at all.”
The man schooled his features (which had hardly moved more than an increment upwards) before clearing his throat. “Your predicament is nothing to scoff at.” Zhongli gestured with a brief outward palm, all while keeping the movement subtle. “However, your ability to emphatically articulate while being so heavily under the influence…creates quite the humorous disparity.”
“I’m not even—” a jarring hiccup interrupted Childe’s words, an action he would artfully pretend never happened, “—drunk.”
OR: where it all began.
Childe has his first true interaction with Wangsheng's most-esteemed funeral consultant (and the Fatui's trusted Liyuan confidante) after a few too many, and, predictably, doesn't know when to quit.
Can absolutely be read as a stand-alone fic, but ties into the Weight of Gold series as well.
