Summary
Cas adopts (steals) a cow. Dean helps.
“Cas… There’s a… There’s a cow. In my room.”
“Yes, Dean.”
“Why?”
“Because.”
"Right."(aka the ol' “my landlord won't let me get a fish because of a no animals policy, so I adopted a cow instead, and my roommate has to help me hide it” fic trope…. Wait, that’s not a trope?)

Summary
John Winchester's no-animal renting policy is strict. No pets: no cats, no dogs, not even fish. So, naturally, one would expect that his renters --- Dean Winchester and Castiel Novak --- wouldn't have any animals in their shared house... Except. Well. Cas has a habit of taking things literally. After all... a cow isn't a cat. Or a dog. Or, Dean tells him, a fish. Which means that, technically, they weren't breaking any rules... right?
Thus, Samantha Novak-Winchester has been living quite happily in what used to be Dean's room for about a week now, and Dean has been sharing a bed with his totally-platonic, absolutely-nothing-more roommate. And it's fine. Really, it is. Dean is fine because of three very simple facts. 1) Dean Winchester does not care about the cow. 2) Dean Winchester does not view his roommate as anything but a roommate. 3) Dean Winchester absolutely does not have a crush on anybody, much less said roommate. (Of course not.)
But when John Winchester finds out about Samantha, something's gotta give, and it might just be one of those fundamental facts. (Or, perhaps, all of them.)

Summary
After John Winchester found out about the cow Cas had adopted (read: cownapped) and Dean had helped hide, resulting in Samantha's ostensible return to the farm, Dean's eviction from his and Cas' house, and a (temporary?) dissolution of their friendship (or roommate-ship... pining-ship?), things spiraled off the rails. It's only through a substantial amount of plotting from an eager Charlie, a reluctant Sam, and a vaguely-confused Bobby that Cas agreed to talk to Dean... But how well that conversation will go remains up in the air. It's a good thing neither of them are hiding anything (especially not *both* of them, and *especially* not both of them having crushes on the other)... that'd be ridiculous... right? Right?
