“Hey, you okay?”
Buck glances up, grinning as Eddie joins him in the locker room.
“Yeah.” He stops to roll up his sleeves and scratch at the incessant itch that’s been driving him mad. “I don’t know. I think I got something on me during that last call?”

Summary
“Hey.” Eddie steps into the kitchen, and Buck jerks in surprise. He fumbles the glass salad bowl. He almost catches it, but it hits the edge of the counter and just shatters.
“Buck!”
Eddie and Chris both lunge towards him, but Buck throws out his hand.
“Chris, stop! Don’t move!” He looks over at Eddie, eyes wide. “He’s not wearing shoes.”

Summary
"This— firefighting— it's just something that I'm meant to do, same as you," Eddie says, without any hesitation. "Plus, Hen and Chimney are pretty damn good at their jobs. They've patched you up enough times."
"Too many times," Buck groans. "They're never going to let me live this down."

Summary
It's unsurprising when Buck is finally taken down.
And he goes down hard.
The flu had spread through the house, starting with Chris who'd brought it home from school and followed shortly by Eddie.
When it finally reaches Buck, it doesn't ease him into it. There are no warning signs, no tickle in the back of his throat. On Thursday he's fine; walking into burning buildings, and happy to have his partner back at his side.
On Friday morning he wakes feeling like he's been hit by a truck.
