Summary
If he didn't know any better, Rooster would think he looked nervous. "Listen have you been checked out by anyone since you got back?"
Rooster tried to stand up as straight as he could without hurting himself. It wasn't that impressive. "Nope. Made it back in one piece didn't I?"
Hangman gave him and incredulous look. "You mean to tell me you flew a complicated suicide mission, engaged in multiple dogfights, got shot down, parachuted down to God's green earth below, sneaked into an enemy airfield and stole a plane, got into another dogfight, and came back without any medical attention whatsoever?"
"Well when you put it that way..."
(Edited because apparently I don't know how to spell.)

Summary
"That's very admirable, Roo but if you're busy looking out for everyone else who's going to look out for you?"
Rooster shrugged. "I do."
Hangman shook his head. "You can't have it both ways."
"Well then, better me than them." Rooster sees something on Hangman's face that he hasn't seen often. Genuine anger.
"And what gives you the right to think like that?"
Rooster looked at him confused. "What are you mad that I went back for Mav? That I jeopardized the mission? As I recall you went back too."
"Yeah I did. That doesn't mean it was the right call."
"Then why did you do it?"
"Because I care about you, you jackass!" Hangman practically yells. His face shifts into surprise. "Huh."
Or...
A series of one shots surrounding life after the mission.
(Basically a bunch of one-shots focusing on character's relationships and their lives after the mission with Mav.)

Bradley 'Rooster' Bradshaw goes nearly fifteen years before he reconnects with Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell, and it takes a suicide mission, the two sacrificing themselves for each other, a stolen enemy aircraft, and one intense oiled up football game to do so. A look at the fifteen years leading up to that hug and why it took that much to get to that point.
