This fic is slow burn, has a mix of fluff and angst, eventually earns it's explicit rating on multiple occasions, and does give our boys a well deserved happy ending.

“Sirius..” Remus breathed out finally into the stillness of the night. No other sounds disturbing them except for the crash and retreat of waves. “You know I love you right?” Remus asked, locking eyes with him and not letting him look away. “Your family is a bunch of horrible cowards and they don’t deserve you. James and I are your family, and we love you. I- I love you..”
Remus’ voice cracked a little at the end, wavering only because he was terrified that Sirius wouldn’t understand or want both of what Remus was offering. They were a family and they would always have one another’s backs, but Remus could- he wanted to be, if Sirius wanted it- he wanted to be more.
Sirius stared up at him searching, he could feel his defenses cracking down and breaking open in Remus’ hands. He leaned up and before he could think or really process what he was doing he brought their lips together in a first hesitant gentle kiss.
Pent up longing and tension crackled between them as they pressed their lips together. Sirius’ eyes closed, Remus’ face flushed and they held onto one another with a desperation as if they broke apart they feared they may not fit back together again.
