Summary
Finney was different.
At least, that’s what he said. To be frank, Finney wouldn’t usually be inclined to believe Albert– or Al, as he had begun to insist upon– about anything. But as far as he’s aware, he is right. After all, he’s still alive. Albert had killed the others shortly after their captures. A few days, a week at most between the day he’d grabbed them and the day he’d gutted them. But here Finney was, nearly six months later, still trapped in that shithole.

Summary
Finney Shaw was a weak boy. A boy who didn’t fight for himself, a boy who allowed himself to be beaten down by others and to be taken advantage of. He was smaller, thinner, quieter. He was the bigger boy's target.
In a way, maybe Al saw a bit of himself in him.

Summary
It felt voyeuristic, watching him sleep. Albert, that is. The Grabber, whatever you’d want to call him. It didn’t really matter to Finney.
He had no idea how he didn’t feel uncomfortable when he did it to Finney– it felt beyond invasive, watching someone else sleep. Still, Finney couldn't bring himself to feel too bad, as uneasy as it made him feel.

Summary
Every day, like clockwork, Finney would realise something terrible.
He’d wake up staring at a concrete ceiling, still tired despite all the sleep he managed to get. He’d pace for a little while. Or maybe he’d just stay in bed, wrapped up in his blanket daydreaming for hours. It wasn’t an interesting routine, in fact it was rather mind-numbing in nature.
